Beautiful sunset at Higgins tonight 26 degrees, beam of light from the setting sun was fantastic. 

Fore River, Portland, Maine

View of the Fore River from the Mercy Hospital building.  I was commissioned in 2008 to paint 3 large paintings for the lobby of the Hospital.  I was very happy to have my work included with many other local artists in this new building.

Pemaquid Point, Maine

Took a little trip to Pemaquid Point today, very clear and cold, 26 degrees and breezy.  Pretty quiet at this time of year!

East End to Downtown, Portland, Maine

 Lot's of walking in Portland today, it was COLD!  Then went to the Portland Museum of Art's Rackstraw Downes lecture, he was wonderful talking about his plein air painting!  Plein air in Maine, NYC, Texas, New Jersey...very inspiring, can't wait to get back out to paint!

A strange mid afternoon haze in the Portland area today, it was snowing with the sunshine.  Not too cold today, loving the Maine coast.

A Tale of Two Beaches, Scarborough, Maine

Went to Ferry Beach for my morning walk, it was high tide and there was zero beach!  Extremely windy and big waves.  So I took it over to Scarborough Beach, not so windy with calm seas,  beautiful, not a soul on the beach.
