Show's Over Move on Folks

Isaac Dyer Galleries show is over, it was a wonderful opportunity for Fred and I to show our work together in a beautiful space, thanks Deb and Peter!  and so on to the next challenge, a two woman show with Kathleen Daughan later in the season at the Damariscotta River Grill.  This will be our plein air work, acrylics, pastels and oils painted on location all over Maine.  Now what to do with these?

Evening Breezes in the Garden

Much cooler in the garden this evening...nice cool breezes.  Flowers picked for Fred's evening floral still life photo.

Art House, Portland, Maine

Dropped off a pastel for framing at Art House today, love this courtyard at the Calderwood Bakery artists studios building.  My junior year painting studio at Portland School of Art (now MECA) was on the 2nd floor in the upper left corner of this pic.  Ed Douglas, painting prof.

Water Feature

It's so nice to hear the sound of trickling water in the garden.  Fred built this millstone water feature right off our deck.  The sound of the running water can be heard in the house and on the deck, very calming and peaceful.  Hope you have water in your garden!

Old Orchard Beach

Here's a photo from today's drive through OOB.  I love street signs and road markings.  A little lunch at Bailey's at Pine Point and a swing through the town to see what's happening.  Lot's of motel vacancies...a little odd for beautiful weather in July, plenty of cars from Quebec, though.

Evening Walk in the Brook

Took an evening walk in the Brook today, much cooler with a foggy mist.  Love the Sappi mill stack in the evening, sometimes it looks just like a Maxfield Parrish, with a teal sky and yellow light on the stack.
