Partridge Island, Irving Nature Park, St. John, New Brunswick, Canada
A lovely evening for my first trip to the Irving Nature Park in St. John, a beautiful getaway so close to the city.

Bay of Fundy, Pocologan, New Brunswick
I was painting in my motel room, as the fog and mist are very thick today, and just happened to look up and see that the world was pinkish purple, wow, a weird sunset through the fog...beautiful!

Pocologan, New Brunswick, Canada
I have been very busy painting in the studio for an upcoming show and not out taking pics! Now I am in the final stages of the show and painting on location in New Brunswick, first in Campobello and now the Pocologan area. There was a very brief rain shower tonight as I was settling in at the Clipper Shipp, this is the view from my deck.

Oven Head Cove, New Brunswick and Gleason Cove, Perry, Maine
Stopped to pick up some smoked salmon and some salmon jerky at Oven Head as I was heading home form New Brunswick today. Have enjoyed their salmon since my first trip to New Brunswick in 2007! (exit 45 Highway 1) Took a leisurely journey home enjoying Downeast and Eastport.

Two yellow dories on Little Lepreau Road. A beautiful snow day in New Brunswick, my first trip in winter weather. Snow showers all afternoon, a good wind and in the mid thirties.

Sunrise, Pocologan, New Brunswick, Canada
A beautiful sunrise over the bay at Pocologan. I very rarely see the sunrise, not being a morning person, but this one was beautiful! Of course it was an hour later being Atlantic time, 7:14 not 6:14 am. There was a crescent moon still out, my older daughter, as a toddler, called it the"fingernail moon." There was sea smoke a little later and ice on the deck. 0 degrees C. with 10 km/h wind.

Celtic Cross, St Andrews by-the-Sea, New Brunswick, Canada
A beautiful day in New Brunswick, but very windy and quite chilly. Spent the day taking lots of photos for future paintings and a nice lunch at The Gables. Very quiet in St Andrews today, enjoying the end of the season quietly by the Celtic Cross.

Blueberry Barren, near Elgin, New Brunswick, Canada
The sun came out briefly before noon when I was driving through the barrens. This morning I was at Wolfe Lake in Fundy National Park talking with a friendly Park Ranger about my painting trip, along comes another ranger with a good size black bear in a bear trap trailer!!! They let me look at the bear and it roared and charged at the cage end of the trap, very frightening to be near such an unhappy wild animal. They were relocating the bear to a quiet part of the Park. The Ranger told me to take a Midland Rd/ Mechanic Rd, dirt road to check out the foliage in the valley near Elgin. What he didn't tell me was that the road went right through the blueberry barrens! A lucky day!

Alma, New Brunswick, Canada
At the beautiful village of Alma with 50 foot tides, I can see the tide from my window! This is about two hours from high tide. The lobster fleet sails in six days, lots of work on the boats going on this evening!

The Caves, St. Martins, New Brunswick
Painted at The Caves today at low tide, what a busy day in St Martins! Two large cruise ships docked in St John, dozens of buses, vans, and taxis with hundreds of people eating chowder and clams and lobster...taking pictures of the covered bridges. Tourist Season in New Brunswick! The little specs are some of the hundreds of people exploring The Caves, gives a sense of scale...

Gardner Creek, New Brunswick
This is one view from Moore's Specialties B&B in Gardner Creek. One of the most peaceful places that I have ever been to. If you need a quiet place away from the busy world, here it is....
