On the Saco River in Fryeburg today, fall colors just starting.  Love this time of year, a surprisingly warm day before the crisp cool days arrive.

Abol Picnic Area, Baxter State Park, Maine

After painting by Togue Pond Gatehouse, I stopped here for a picnic lunch.  Muddy bear paw tracks on the picnic table, they know where the food is!  I was hungry after painting for 2.5 hours in cool weather, had a great lunch of manchego cheese, salami, Greek yogurt with granola and OJ.  Food always tastes great outdoors!

Millinocket, Maine

Downtown Millinocket 7:15 pm.  Working in the artist's studio apartment at Northlight Gallery, priming canvases and doing some small paintings.  Fall is here!  Big change in the air, very cool.  Looking forward to painting this street scene tomorrow during the Trails End Festival.

Fundy Trail, New Brunswick

Another pic from New Brunswick along the Fundy Trail of a flower pot rock.  The water was churned up from Hurricane Earl and brown just along the edge and then beautiful blue green.

Highway 1, New Brunswick

Loved the sky color and the building color across from the Esso station on our way home along Highway 1 in New Brunswick yesterday.  A man was making mini donuts here at a vendor cart outside the store, $3.00 a bag, they were GOOD!

Campobello Island, New Brunswick

Took this as we finished our New Brunswick trip today on our way from St George to Deer Island to Campobello, love the patterns in the water on this one.
This was a day for seeing wildlife! Started when I went out before sunrise to get some pics and saw a large handsome deer in Gardner Creek, then we saw a beautiful bald eagle on the ferry ride to Deer Island, and then many whales from the rocks of East Quoddy Lighthouse.  It happened to be low tide when we were at the Lighthouse so a trip out to the light was possible.  Drove back on Rt 1 and stopped at Moody's Diner for dinner.   A very wonderful Labor Day weekend trip to New Brunswick.

The Caves, St Martins, New Brunswick

Beautiful time on the Fundy Trail out of St Martins today, visited all the sights.  Very windy day and cool after Earl, great strong waves.  Seafood chowder at the caves.

After Hurricane Earl, Split Rock Beach, New Brunswick

Hurricane Earl left a beautiful gift at Split Rock Beach near Gardner Creek, New Brunswick this afternoon, a rainbow!  The light was incredible, completely changing every few minutes and huge waves.  The beaches here are so quiet and barely a soul to be seen for miles.  The rock is reddish purple orange or blue green or purple gray.  Some beautiful smooth reddish beach rocks have a white stripe around them.  The water was not too cold, but the waves too wild for swimming.

St Andrews by the Sea, New Brunswick, Canada

In St Andrews, waiting for Hurricane Earl to hit and enjoying cool breezy weather!  What a change from 90 degrees and humid back home.  This is about 30 minutes from high tide, just over 24 feet, very calm seas.  Another wonderful meal at the Rossmount Inn!

Parsons Beach, Kennebunk, Maine

Painted at the Franciscan Monastery in Kennebunk today, another 90 degree day. Finished # 4 for the Heartwood College of Art sale Friday and Saturday at the Brick Store Museum, paintings are on my painting blog.  It was hot!!!  Then went to Parsons for a swim.  This guy looked nice in the light of the sun setting.
