Yesterday, 7am, Compass Pond off the Golden Road, a beautiful view of Katahdin before setting up to paint.

Golden Road, Millinocket, Maine

Last light on the marsh on the Golden Road, peepers  and birds calling and a few mosquitoes and me. Some Friday evening people cruising the Golden Road looking for a moose. Saw one Tuesday night at River Pond. Today, spent the day painting with a pair of ducks and a pair of Canada geese and heaven knows what else!

 In the Katahdin region painting for the week, picked a good one! 70 degree temps in the daytime and no black flies yet. The trees are budding, yellow green and red and the Penobscot River is roaring. This is paradise...

10/1/10 Roaring Brook, Katahdin Lake Trail, Baxter State Park, Maine

Hiked out from Katahdin Lake Wilderness Camps in the pouring rain today.  I was there for a five day painting trip, got one partial sunny day and sunset and one beautiful clear early morning on the lake.  Was able to deliver seven paintings to North Light Gallery in Millinocket.  Who's in charge of the weather?  I want to talk to them!
