Togue Pond, Baxter State Park, Maine, May 4, 2013
Caught this scene at Togue Pond this morning, hundreds of fish spawning near the shore. Loons and quiet, snow still on Mt. Katahdin. Paradise!

October 2 to October 8, 2011
Pics from my eight day painting trip to the Katahdin area and Katahdin Lake Wilderness Camps. This year was a tough weather trip, lots of rain and wind and cold.
Oct 2, 2011, Sandy Stream Pond in the rain, a nice quiet hike at sundown, no moose to be seen.
Oct 3, 2011 on the Golden Road, every time that I got out of the car the rain started.
Oct 5, 2011 Katahdin Lake just after flying in, had a brief window at sunrise where the wind quieted enough to fly in after a day delay due to heavy low clouds and high winds and rain.
Oct 6, 2011 sunrise on Katahdin Lake.
Oct 7, 2011 alpine glow sunrise on Katahdin Lake.
Oct 8, 2011 view from the plane, thank you Katahdin Air Service for another safe trip. The weather cleared out on my last day at Katahdin Lake, enjoyed a beautiful morning painting and saying goodbye's to new and old friends from my stay. A beautiful view of Mt Katahdin and environs.

10/1/10 Roaring Brook, Katahdin Lake Trail, Baxter State Park, Maine
Hiked out from Katahdin Lake Wilderness Camps in the pouring rain today. I was there for a five day painting trip, got one partial sunny day and sunset and one beautiful clear early morning on the lake. Was able to deliver seven paintings to North Light Gallery in Millinocket. Who's in charge of the weather? I want to talk to them!

Last stop on my weekend trip to Baxter State Park, beautiful clouds and very still. Went to Big Rock to enjoy the view.

Abol Picnic Area, Baxter State Park, Maine
After painting by Togue Pond Gatehouse, I stopped here for a picnic lunch. Muddy bear paw tracks on the picnic table, they know where the food is! I was hungry after painting for 2.5 hours in cool weather, had a great lunch of manchego cheese, salami, Greek yogurt with granola and OJ. Food always tastes great outdoors!
